ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - Jury selection is getting underway in an unrelated case for a man charged in connection with the killing of a Vermont woman.

The Caledonian Record reports (https://bit.ly/1pdBMjk) the attorney for Keith Baird has asked the court to segregate potential jurors individually for questioning because he’s concerned about publicity from Baird’s alleged involvement in the 2010 kidnapping and murder of 78-year-old Pat O’Hagan of Sheffield.

Baird is in prison serving a sentence for an unrelated aggravated domestic assault conviction. He was charged this year along with others with first-degree murder in O’Hagan’s death. He’s pleaded not guilty.

In court this week, he’s been charged with violating an abuse prevention order.
