One day after Vice President Joseph R. Biden said he wanted the “nation of Africa” to prosper, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi appears to have deleted a tweet that called the continent a country.

“Honored to join my colleagues & @OfficialCBC at #USAfrica Leaders Summit to discuss the valuable relationship between our two countries,” she tweeted, then deleted Wednesday, Twitchy reported.

Africa is a continent made up of 54 separate countries, including island nations.

Speaking at the United States-Africa Summit on Tuesday, Mr. Biden said: “There is no reason the nation of Africa cannot and should not join the ranks of the world’s most prosperous nations in the near term-in the decades ahead.”
