TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Pierce County prosecutors say a man who harassed a 14-year-old girl at a bus stop in Lakewood is a convicted child molester who was wearing an electronic monitoring device at the time.

Police say 28-year-old Jon Carrington approached the girl Wednesday as she waited with friends, rubbed her back and put a small baggie of marijuana in her purse. He claimed to be a state Department of Corrections officer who could take her away in handcuffs. He backed off when a passer-by intervened. Police arrested him nearby.

KOMO reports (https://bit.ly/1sl4VeR) he’s been charged with felony harassment, communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and assault with sexual motivation.

Carrington pleaded not guilty and is jailed with $500,000 bail. He was convicted in 2010 of child molestation in Pierce County.
