NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A convicted sex offender from Oklahoma who was wanted for parole violations has been arrested in El Paso, Texas.

Cleveland County Sheriff Joe Lester said Friday that 30-year-old Teddy Dean Davis was arrested Thursday by deputy U.S. marshals during a traffic stop.

Davis was convicted in 2011 of molesting a 6-year-old child and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was paroled after two years, but authorities say he violated the terms of his parole and a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for a court hearing in June.

Davis remains in custody in El Paso pending extradition back to Oklahoma.
