GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Green Bay will issue an emergency water conservation notice as a water transmission line is repaired.

WTAQ-AM reports (https://bit.ly/1ovHQi9 ) the Green Bay Water Utility is asking city and Ashwaubenon village residents to keep water usage down starting Saturday. The conservation rules will be in effect until further notice from the utility.

Crews will shut down one of the city’s two incoming transmission lines to fix a leak. That will leave the second line to supply water for the whole area. The extent of the leak is unclear.

The utility is asking customers not to water their lawns or spray water on sidewalks, driveways, cars or windows. The notice also prohibits filling swimming pools or hot tubs.

Residents are asked to delay washing laundry if possible.
