GARLAND, Texas (AP) — Police in the Dallas suburb of Garland say an intruder was shot to death after breaking into an apartment.

Garland police said that officers responding to the report of a shooting Thursday evening were met by a man who said he’d shot someone who broke into his apartment. Police then found the man who had been shot on the floor of the apartment.

The wounded man was moved to an ambulance, where he died.

Police are working to identify the dead man.

Police are still investigating and are in the process of interviewing the man who shot the intruder along with neighbors who may have witnessed anything.
