TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a train in Tucson.

Tucson police have identified the man as 56-year-old Robert E. Cole and they say he was declared dead at the scene Friday morning.

They say nobody aboard the train was injured in the collision, which occurred about 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 7th Street.

Detectives from the Traffic Investigations Unit say Cole was struck while crossing the railroad tracks.

Police say no arrests or citations will be issued.
