NEPHI, Utah (AP) - A Nephi teacher has been found not guilty of sexually molesting a former student.

A jury deliberated about two hours before returning the verdict Thursday evening in favor of 39-year-old Hadley Christensen.

He was charged with a first-degree felony count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child following a sleepover with his daughter and her 11-year-old friend at his Nephi home in December 2012.

The girl told investigators Christensen gave her a strange pill for a headache and she awoke to find him inappropriately touching her during the night.

Christensen, who was the girl’s teacher the year before, had 11 years of experience as an elementary school teacher in Juab County and taught at Red Cliffs Elementary School in Nephi.
