FORT VALLEY, Ga. (AP) - Some students at Fort Valley State University had to wait nearly a month to receive their financial aid due to problems with a computer system used to the process the funds.

WMAZ-TV reports (https://on.wmaz.com/V7EbA8 ) the glitch was fixed Thursday night.

University officials say students usually can begin accepting financial aid by July 15. Officials say the school worked with technicians for several weeks on a fix and students were advised of the delay.

Ariel Hill, president of the Student Government Association, tells WMAZ that students were contacting her worried about moving in and paying for food on campus.

The university has more than 3,000 students. Classes are set to begin on Aug. 18.
