CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - The trial for a 35-year-old man charged with killing 5-year-old Evelyn Miller in 2005 has been delayed again.

Casey Frederiksen is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse in the disappearance and death of 5-year-old Evelyn Miller of Floyd on July 1, 2005. Frederiksen’s trial had previously been scheduled to begin Sept. 15 in Hamilton County’s Webster City after the court granted a change of venue from Floyd County.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/X8RCRZ ) that on Friday, Judge Gregg Rosenbladt granted a defense motion to push back the trial. No new trial date has been set.

Frederiksen was arrested last fall and charged in the girl’s death. Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of the girl’s mother.
