SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (AP) - A man allegedly stabbed by his wife at their northern New Jersey home is now facing charges himself after authorities uncovered a large stash of gunpowder, weapons and ammunition.

Saddle Brook police first responded to the home Friday morning, after 65-year-old Eileen Lintner allegedly stabbed her 64-year-old husband, Robert, with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

In such cases, it’s standard procedure for police to secure any weapons in the home. But authorities said Robert Lintner would not cooperate, so they instead got a search warrant and found several gun safes and other related items at the residence.

Robert Lintner was charged with creating a risk of widespread hazard, while his wife was charged with aggravated assault.

It wasn’t known Saturday if either Lintner had retains an attorney.
