NEW ALBANY, Miss. (AP) - Authorities in Union County say a 40-year-old Memphis, Tennessee, man has been arrested in connection with a carjacking attempt at a convenience store.

New Albany police investigator Jeff Chism tells WCBI-TV (https://bit.ly/1stN5mv ) the suspect is Jerry Mason.

Chism says a woman was confronted outside the store on Mississippi Highway 15 at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday. After the assailant demanded the keys to her vehicle and pulled a knife, the woman ran into the store and called police.

Chism says officers arrested Mason a short time later at a nearby truck stop on a charge of armed robbery.

No injuries were reported.

It was not immediately clear whether Mason has an attorney.
