TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tuscaloosa County police say a man who was upset over his dog being put down is hospitalized along with his son after a shooting in the parking lot of a local veterinary clinic.

Sgt. Dale Phillips tells the Tuscaloosa News the man shot himself in the stomach Monday afternoon and the same bullet wounded his adult son in his arm. Phillips says the men were taken to the DCH Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting is under investigation.
