KITTANNING, Pa. (AP) - Police say a masked suspect who stole a cash register from a western Pennsylvania bowling alley hours before it caught fire may be a woman.

State police tell the (Tarentum) Valley News Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1FHvUTP ) that surveillance photos from the Greendale Tavern and Lanes show a very thin person wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark bandanna and sunglasses taking the register.

That happened about between 11 p.m. and midnight Nov. 24 at the business along Route 85 in Valley Township, Armstrong County.

The owner reported the robbery and stayed at the business until about 1 a.m. Nov. 25. The business closed an hour later but by 3:30 a.m. the bowling alley was on fire.

Police say the thief appeared familiar with the business and the register, and knew to cut a wire before stealing the machine, which contained $643.
