MARANA, Ariz. (AP) - A puppy belonging to the family of a fallen Marine has been found in Arizona after getting lost during a road trip.

Mocha, a four-month-old beagle, got away during a pit stop in Marana, Arizona, on the family’s trip from Texas to California.

Northwest Fire District firefighters vowed to find the puppy while the family of Gunnery Sgt. Gregory J. Mullins continued its travels. Mullins, a Marine, was killed in an explosion at Camp Pendleton in California last year. He was part of an explosive ordnance disposal team.

Firefighters found the puppy at the Pima Animal Care Center nine days after it went missing. The family picked up the puppy on Monday.
