SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Former New York Gov. Gov. George Pataki, who has been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2016, is visiting South Carolina.

Pataki helped lead the state of New York in the aftermath of the 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center. He’s speaking Monday evening at Wofford College in Spartanburg.

The college announced that Pataki is speaking on the topic of “The Challenge of Leadership” as the speaker for its annual Hipp Lecture on International Affairs and National Security.

South Carolina has the first GOP presidential primary in the South in 2016.
