ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating after Anderson County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a man.

Multiple media outlets reported that officers were called to a home around 2 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff John Skipper told WYFF-TV (https://bit.ly/1pG32JF) that a man was threatening to shoot himself and officers. Skipper said at some point, the man broke a window and pointed a gun at officers and he was shot by a deputy.

He was taken to AnMed Health Center in Anderson where he died.

The man’s name has not been released.

None of the deputies were hurt.

The deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the SLED investigation.
