COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A 21-year-old accused of trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl near a Council Bluffs school has been found incompetent for trial.

The Daily Nonpareil reports (https://bit.ly/15MpLuO) that treatment for Nathan Busse has been scheduled at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville. A trial had been set to begin Tuesday on charges that Busse tried to abduct the fifth-grader in January 2013 near Edison Elementary School.

Council Bluffs police say Busse grabbed the girl and forced her to walk with him. She struggled with Busse and broke away.

Pottawattamie County Attorney Jon Jacobmeier says Busse will remain at the center until he’s deemed competent for trial. Online court records say a review hearing on Busse is scheduled for April 18, 2016.
