SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded a 50-year-old man on a Syracuse street and made off with cash.

Sgt. Tom Connellan says in a news release that the victim told officers he was approached around 12:15 a.m. Sunday on Pastime Drive by a man who demanded money and then shot him three times.

The victim was being treated at Upstate University Hospital for wounds described as non-life-threatening.

The victim described his assailant as a black man, 6-foot-3, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt under a jacket.

Some witnesses told police they saw a man matching that description run through the nearby Pastime Athletic Club parking lot.
