GLENDIVE, Mont. (AP) - Dawson County officials say a body discovered last week near the Yellowstone River in eastern Montana is that of a 26-year-old Michigan man who died of suicide.

The man’s body was discovered on Nov. 26 near the Interstate 94 bridge and the river at Glendive.

Officials initially investigated the death as suspicious, but an autopsy determined the man died of self-inflicted knife wounds.

Undersheriff Ross Canen told KXGN on Monday that the victim’s family said he was a transient and had mental health issues.
