WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia police are investigating a shooting that injured a man and a juvenile.

Metropolitan police spokesman Araz Alali says the man was shot in the leg and the juvenile was shot in the back Monday morning in Northwest Washington, and that both are expected to survive.

Alali says the shooting was unrelated to protests being held in downtown Washington on Monday.

He declined to discuss the motive.

The ages of the man and the juvenile involved in the shooting weren’t immediately available.
