METUCHEN, N.J. (AP) - Track repairs could slow the commute for riders on New Jersey Transit’s Northeast Corridor trains.

Beginning Tuesday, Amtrak will replace concrete ties near Metuchen Station.

NJ Transit says passengers heading to Newark and New York City should expect delays of up to 15 minutes through Dec. 21. The work is expected to end by Dec. 22.

Eastbound passengers at Metuchen will use special platform extensions to board trains.
