ARUNDEL, Maine (AP) - Police say a Saco man died in a one-car crash on Route 1 that was caused in part by icy road conditions.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1zIBeEt ) reports Richard R. Johnson Sr. apparently lost control of his truck while driving south on Route 1 in Arundel on Sunday morning. Police say the truck crossed a raised median and struck a guardrail before hitting a utility pole. The crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. and forced the closure of the road for part of the day.

Police say Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
