SALEM, Ore. (AP) - The Salem City Council is considering how officials should react to ride-sharing services such as Uber.

The Statesman Journal reports (https://stjr.nl/1FJ1Xog ) Uber has been giving rides in Salem since July, although it is not licensed to do so.

A Monday night’s meeting the council is considering whether to make Uber comply with taxi regulations or change them to adapt to the services dispatched through smart phones.
