CHATHAM, Va. (AP) - A satellite workforce center is expected to open in Chatham this week.

West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board executive director Lisa Fultz says the facility will be the only Virginia Workforce Center in Pittsylvania County. A previous location in Tightsqueeze closed Oct. 15 when its lease arrangement expired.

Fulz tells the Danville Register & Bee (https://bit.ly/1vCFNQm ) that the center will provide access to free services such as job-search assistance, interviewing skills and building a proper resume.

The workforce investment board monitors and funds the region’s Virginia Workforce centers, along with employment services and training programs for employers, jobseekers and youth.
