ALFRED, Maine (AP) - A Maine man charged with running over his mother is being held on $50,000 cash bail.

A judge set bail Monday for 26-year-old Shane Jones, who was arrested Friday in connection with the death of 49-year-old Kimberly Jones in Biddeford. He’s charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and reckless conduct with a motor vehicle.

Police believe Jones was arguing with his mother when his pickup knocked her down on Nov. 23. He was arrested five days later in nearby Sanford.

Jones, who was being held in the York County Jail, entered no plea when he appeared in court Monday via video link. He remained at the jail late Monday afternoon.
