UNION, S.C. (AP) - Newly elected U.S. Sen. Tim Scott is visiting the South Carolina Upstate.

Scott on Monday visits Timken’s Tyger River Plant in Union where the company makes industrial bearings. The company also operates plants in Duncan, Gaffney, Greenville, Laurens and Honea Path.

Later Monday, Scott speaks to students at Blacksburg High School.
