POMONA, Calif. (AP) - A woman found stabbed to death inside a Pomona motel room has been identified by authorities as a 35-year-old Upland resident.

Los Angeles County coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz says Yvette Silva died Saturday at the Motel 6 on Garey Avenue.

Pomona police Sgt. Bert Sanchez tells City News Service that Silva was found when officers responded to a call reporting a disturbance.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the stabbing attack.
