ATLANTA (AP) - A new vice president and general counsel has been named for the parent company of the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company, MLS Atlanta and more.

AMB Group CEO Arthur Blank earlier this week announced that Mike Egan has been appointed to the position. Blank said in a statement that Egan has been one of his trusted advisers for the past 15 years and his firm, King and Spalding, helped the AMB Group when it acquired the Atlanta Falcons, and also helped navigate the process of acquiring a Major League Soccer expansion team.

Officials say Egan’s responsibilities will involve all of the AMB Group companies, and he’ll also work as the operational executive of the new Atlanta Falcons stadium construction project.

Officials say Egan’s appointment is effective Jan. 5.
