BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Police say a Butte man pushed a 2-year-old boy into the path of officers who were searching the man’s home.

The Montana Standard reports (https://tinyurl.com/kbmuz9o ) the child wasn’t injured in the incident Tuesday.

Officers went to the home with a warrant to search for stolen goods. They say 21-year-old Shane Albracht was hiding in a crawl space with the child and pushed him in front of the officers when they got close.

Albrecht was arrested on suspicion of criminal endangerment and was being held in the Silver Bow County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond. Online jail records didn’t indicate whether he had an attorney.

Child and Family Services was called to attend to the child.

Police say they recovered a stolen coat and stolen credit cards from the search.
