JACKSON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine who dumped two dead donkeys off a road in Jackson Township.

The remains were found last week near East Veterans Highway and Bennetts Mills Road.

Township attorney Jean Cipriani tells the Asbury Park Press (https://on.app.com/1B76fTU the donkeys appeared to have been intentionally shot.

Animal control officers are trying to determine who owned the donkeys.
