EAGLE CREEK, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say an Oregon man is dead after he apparently shot himself accidentally while trying to fix a gun.

Clackamas County deputies say the evidence suggests the 22-year-old man was shot while trying to remove a stuck cartridge.

The man was identified as Alexander Keith Olenslager of Eagle Creek, an unincorporated community about 20 miles southeast of Portland.

Family members told deputies that Olenslager said earlier Tuesday that he was having trouble with one of his weapons and was working on it in an outbuilding.
