TAYLOR, Texas (AP) - Classes are canceled at a Central Texas middle school after a fire broke out in a home economics classroom.

Taylor Middle School officials say workers were unable to restore power to an area of the school damaged by the Tuesday evening blaze. They say a custodian and assistant principal were still at school and called 911 when they noticed the fire.

It’s unclear what started the fire. No injuries were reported.

Officials say sixth, seventh, and eighth graders can stay home on Wednesday. Teachers and staff have been asked to report for work as usual.

It’s unclear if classes will resume later in the week.
