OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - General Electric Co. has announced plans to hold its annual shareholder meeting in Oklahoma City.

The meeting is scheduled for April 22 at the Cox Convention Center.

GE is currently building a new oil and gas technology center in northeast Oklahoma City where about 125 jobs are expected to be created. The research and development center is the ninth for GE, but is the first dedicated to the energy industry.

Greater Oklahoma City Chamber CEO Roy Williams told The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1quJ2KA ) the meeting will provide exposure for the city among GE board members and executives and Wall Street analysts.
