ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov.-elect Larry Hogan has named Craig Williams to be his chief of staff.

Hogan made the announcement Wednesday in Annapolis along with two other appointments. They are the first major posts named in his upcoming administration.

Williams served as a deputy chief of staff in former Gov. Robert Ehrlich’s administration. Williams now works as director of policy and U.S. government affairs for Amgen, a biopharmaceutical company.

Hogan, a Republican, named state Sen. Joseph Getty, R-Carroll, to be his legislative director.

Hogan also announced that Robert Neall will serve as a special adviser on fiscal matters. Neall says he will keep his full-time job as CEO of Priority Partners, though he will take time off during the legislative session to focus on state budget matters.

Hogan takes office Jan. 21.
