MARATHON, Fla. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies say a homeless man apparently drowned in the swimming pool at a Florida Keys resort.

An employee spotted the man’s body Tuesday at the bottom of the deep end of the pool at Marathon’s Banana Bay Resort.

Deputy Greg LaRochelle and two others pulled the body of 51-year-old Michael Cosgrove and began CPR. Cosgrove was pronounced dead a short time later at Fisherman’s Hospital.

Deputies say Cosgrove apparently lived in a van, which was found in the parking lot. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

An investigation continues.
