RATHBUN LAKE, Iowa (AP) - The Honey Creek Resort State Park in southern Iowa has posted an operating profit.

A state audit report issued Wednesday says the resort on Rathbun Lake near Centerville reported nearly $6.1 million in operating revenue for the year ended June 30 and expenses of a little more than $5.9 million. The report says the resort had operating income of nearly $164,000 for the fiscal year.

The operating revenue included more than $3.4 million from lodging, more than $1.8 million from restaurant and banquet operations and nearly $698,000 from golf course operations.

The resort has struggled financially since opening in September 2008.
