TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A 26-year-old Oklahoma man who caused a fatal crash while driving drunk into oncoming traffic has been sentenced to life in prison.

KOTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1scfVga ) Tuesday that John Freeman was sentenced for the March crash in Tulsa. Police say Freeman was driving the wrong way down the Broken Arrow Expressway when he struck and killed 64-year-old O.Z. Walker Jr. An off-duty officer says he tried to get Freeman to pull over before the crash but couldn’t.

Authorities say Freeman’s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.
