SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - Authorities in West Texas say a man has died after his pickup truck was crushed between a semitrailer and a piece of heavy machinery and the truck caught fire.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Shawn Baxter tells the San Angelo Standard-Times (https://bit.ly/1yxAwNs ) that the four-vehicle crash happened Tuesday evening near Goodfellow Air Force Base. He says the truck had its hazard lights on and was following behind a cotton-harvesting machine.

Baxter says the semitrailer carrying peanuts collided with the back of the pickup, which hit the machine. An oncoming vehicle then hit the machine.

The truck driver died at the scene. It’s unclear how many people were involved. Baxter says others suffered minor injuries.

No identities have been released and no charges have been reported.
