RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Ten inmates from the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women are graduating from a transition and re-entry program.

The 10 will graduate Thursday from Jobstart, a transitional program that teaches life skills and job skills to female inmates who are nearing release. After graduation and release, mentors continue to support the women through weekly meetings and other kinds of assistance.

More than 240 women have graduated from Jobstart since it began 13 years ago.

The graduation ceremony will held at First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
