CLEVELAND (AP) - A judge has set a $500,000 bond for a Cleveland woman accused of stabbing her 2-year-old daughter in the abdomen.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tairra Johnson has pleaded no-contest to felonious assault and child endangering. Court documents say she was arraigned in Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County court on Wednesday.

A judge ordered that she have no contact with the child, who is recovering. A prosecutor said Johnson is believed to be mentally ill.

Police were called to her home Nov. 30 on a report of suspected child abuse. Officers said the women kicked the door out at them before they found A’mora Johnson inside the home with stab wounds. She had surgery at a hospital.
