TYLER, Texas (AP) - An East Texas gang member has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge.

The Beaumont Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1GfOSDh ) 41-year-old Chad Piazza admitted he was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas as part of his deal with prosecutors on Wednesday. The Port Acres man pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Authorities say he used his standing with the gang to further the drug crimes in Jefferson County. A 45-year-old co-defendant pleaded guilty in November to the same charge. They face at least 10 years in federal prison.

Sentencing dates haven’t been set.
