GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - Campbell County school trustees are investigating the idea of having two high schools in Gillette.

The city is home to the Campbell County High School, which currently has two campuses. But construction work is progressing to remodel and expand the South Campus.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1vV4Yzm ) that the work is expected to be done in fall 2017.

Trustees asked Deputy Superintendent Alex Ayers to produce a list in January of the pros and cons for going to two high schools and also ideas on how the public can be involved in the decision.

Ayers also told trustees that ideally, school officials should know two years in advance of when Gillette will go to two high schools to begin planning, hire a new principal and work on the transition.
