HOUSTON (AP) - A Houston woman faces up to 20 years in prison after being convicted of fatally striking a bicyclist with her truck and driving off.

The sentencing phase of 35-year-old Margaret Mayer’s trial begins on Thursday. A jury on Wednesday found her guilty of failing to stop and render aid in the December 2013 accident.

Authorities say 24-year-old Chelsea Norman had left work at Whole Foods when she was struck by Mayer. She later died from brain swelling.

Mayer’s attorney says evidence doesn’t link her to the crime.
