HURLEY, Miss. (AP) - A Jackson County man has been charged in the stabbing death of a Hurley woman who went missing Tuesday.

Sheriff Mike Ezell tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1x611t8 ) Scotty Street was charged with capital murder in the death of 55-year-old Frankie Taylor Fairley late Wednesday night.

Ezell says Fairley’s body was found Wednesday in a field near her home.

He says she was last seen by her husband when she asked him to watch a pot of food on the stove until she returned.

A second suspect taken into custody in the case has not been charged.
