LIBERTY, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say the third traffic-related fatality in Amite County in less than a week occurred at the intersection of Thompson and Upper Glading roads, resulting in the death of an unidentified motorist.

Coroner Cam Sharp tells The Enterprise-Journal (shttps://bit.ly/1uo40pK) officials are trying to identify the victim and notify next of kin for the man killed in the fiery accident.

Sheriff Tim Wroten says it may take DNA testing to confirm the victim’s identity.

Wroten says the driver was northbound on Upper Glading early Wednesday morning when his pickup left the road, hit a tree and caught fire.

Wednesday’s fatality is the third in a week and the fourth in the county in less than two weeks.
