OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) - The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says a man and woman found dead in a Milwaukie-area home apparently died in a murder-suicide.

Sgt. Nathan Thompson says deputies who went to a residence Monday night on a welfare check found the bodies.

The spokesman says that based on crime scene evidence, detectives believe 29-year-old Whichelle Stockton was killed by her husband, 28-year-old Tyson Stockton, who then killed himself. No details about the cause of death were released.

Thompson says Whichelle Stockton was recently discharged from the Navy after serving four years. The couple had lived at the residence for eight months.

Investigators are appealing to the public for tips or information on what might have led to the deaths.
