GARLAND, Texas (AP) - Police have released from jail a suburban Dallas man arrested on a capital murder charge in the death of his 4-year-old son, who was injured in a washing machine.

Garland police officer Joe Harn says 28-year-old Joseph Blocker was released Friday pending the outcome of the investigation of the Wednesday death of his son Koda.

Harn told The Dallas Morning News that detectives were not ready to ask the Dallas County district attorney’s office for formal charges.

The boy was found dead Tuesday at a residence after the father called 911. Harn says investigators believe the boy at some point was in the front-loading washing machine and injured. Police confiscated the washer.

Autopsy results are pending on the boy.
