PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Law enforcement and community groups are holding a forum on recent grand jury decisions in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City that have sparked demonstrations around the country.

“New Beginnings Community Outreach Forum: A Follow-Up to the Ferguson Decision” is scheduled for Monday night at the South Providence Recreation Center.

The NAACP, Project Night Vision, the Center for Southeast Asians, the Hispanic Ministerial Association of Rhode Island, the Institute for the Study and Practice of Non-Violence and other community groups are co-hosting the event.

Activists have marched and blocked roadways to protest decisions to not indict a white New York police officer in the chokehold death of an unarmed black man and to not indict a white officer in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson.
