FARMINGTON, Maine (AP) - Revision, revision, revision. That’s the message being delivered to elementary students by a young published author in Maine.

The author is 9-year-old Lydia Schofield of Thorndike. Lydia, who writes under the pen name Jo Jo Thoreau, says her book “Bendy Wendy” went through 75 revisions.

The Morning Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1vJHB6C) reports that the book focuses on a gymnast who tries to overcome an injury. The book was published by an imprint of Five Star Publishing, where her mother works as an editor.

Tiffany Schofield said she and her daughter used to play a rhyming game, and she began writing down some of Lydia’s rhymes. A year later, they began working on the book.
